Every morning for the past 18 years Jerry Mahoney has woken up at 4:30 AM to head to his current job site where he works as a General Foreman for Archibald Electric. Jerry is a leader who is known for passionately directing his crew to perform their best on the job every day. However, that’s not all Jerry does for the IBEW. After working, he heads to the JATC for school.

On top of his job as a General Foreman, Jerry has been an instructor at the JATC for 8 years. He is always going above and beyond to help out when needed and spending countless hours planning his courses and labs. Jerry is an incredible instructor, able to teach pretty much any subject, but what makes him special is the compassion he has for his students. He gets to know each student as an individual, making sure he is teaching each person in a way that resonates with them.

Those that are lucky enough to be taught by Jerry know that he adamantly works to make the IBEW and apprenticeship program better and better. He is humble, kind, hardworking, and willing to share his wisdom in life as well as the electrical industry with each student that passes through his classroom. It is instructors like Jerry that sustain the greatness of our Union. Join us in extending a huge congratulations to Jerry Mahoney for being the 2023 IBEW Hour Power Instructor of the Year!
