Major stadium renovations require more than visible upgrades. Behind every new premium space, video board, and technology system is an extensive electrical infrastructure built to support the venue for years to come.
At M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, IBEW Local 24 members working with NECA Contractor Free State are playing a central role in a multi-year renovation valued at hundreds of millions of dollars. Their work is helping modernize the 26-year-old stadium while maintaining the standards required of a major NFL venue.
The project also highlights the long-term value of a skilled, experienced workforce. General Foreman Corey Shifflet is a second-generation IBEW electrician whose father worked on the stadium during its original construction in 1998. Today, Corey is helping lead the next chapter of that same facility.
It is a powerful example of what strong labor-management partnerships, training, and generational craftsmanship can accomplish.
