Overhead Powerlines cause 40% of electrical fatalities. A majority of these accidents occur with electrical workers that have little to no safety training. That is why it is important to always look up. It could save your life!
If you see equipment in contact with a powerline it is not time to be a hero, stay away. Warn others to stay away. You should stay at least 35′ back, that is about two dump truck lengths. Remember if you see a downed powerline, stay away and call 911. The ESFi reminds you to always look up. In all ways.
